What size amplifier do I need?
This is a very common question we get ...... What size amplifer do
I need? What amp will work with these speakers? How many amplifiers do I need?
Although Seismic Audio doesn't sell power amplifiers, I
generally recommend the Behringer
Europower Series or their new EPX Series. Both are very good amplifiers
for a very reasonable amount of money.
There are several amps out there to power your speakers. I have had experience
with lots of them. Some good, some not so good... QSC and Crown makes really good
amplifiers, they are just more expensive. For the musician on a tight budget,
the Behringer amps are a good deal. They
can be found all over the internet from $299 - $399.
The Europower 2000 or the EPX2000, in bridged mono mode, is
really good for running Two Seismic Audio 18" subwoofers. If you are running four
18" subwoofers, I recommend the Europower 4000 or the EPX3000. Run two 18"
subwoofers on each channel, for a total of 4 ohms per channel.
The EP2000 or EPX2000 is plenty of power for running a pair
of Seismic Audio Dual 15" or single 15" cabinets. Also, it is plenty of power
for running stage monitors.
If you are running four Seismic Audio dual driver cabinets,
I recommend using the EP4000 or EPX3000.
There are plenty of other great choices of amps to go with,
this is just my opinion.
